Lloyd’s Remembrance Day Ceremony
Each year, on the Friday before Remembrance Sunday, the Underwriting Room comes together to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Thousands of ex-service personnel, brokers, underwriters, and Lloyd’s colleagues gather for a poignant service that concludes with a two-minute silence, marked by the ringing of the Lutine Bell and the Last Post played by a bugler.
The Guard of Honour is provided by HMS President Royal Naval Reserve, Number 17 Company (Coldstream), 1st Battalion The London Guards, and the South East and City of London NE Sector Army Cadet Force.
Following the service, Lloyd’s hosts the guard of honour for lunch and the LMN will usually meet at the end of the day for a drink in a local pub.
Royal British Legion
The Royal British Legion organises the annual Remembrance Service at Lloyd’s and co-ordinates the preceding Poppy Collection Day where veterans and serving members of the Armed Forces combine to collect for the RBL across the City.
